In Memory

Charles A. Fisher

I recently found out that Charlie had passed away last year.  So sad to hear this as Charlie and I had been friends in JHS!   We were always in the same homeroom have the same first letter of our last names.

I remember going to see The Temptations and 4 Tops in Central Park with him and some friends when we were Juniors at Lewis.

He was a fun-loving guy and was a member of the NYFD during the 911 Terrorist attacks.

He is fondly remembered..

Charlie and I were in Homeroom, Gym, drafting and a few other classes, we was always happy, funny, and cracking a joke. He held an Honorable Job as a NYC Fire-fighter, and worked the fatal day 9-11. He retired after that, lived in upstate NY, and from what I heard pretty much by himself. I am sure PTSD and other medical problems came about, but I as a Police Officer/Sheriff Salute you, and thank you for what you did and the Man who you were then to run into that building, and the super human to deal with the aftermath. May you rest in peace and join the other 343 Fire-fighters that passed away on that day. Bless you, Howard J. Kotarski-classmate of 68

Knew Charles A. Fisher as well as his brother Joel whom I did time with during and after our Francis Lewis years. Did reach out to Charlie before our 50th reunion. Wish I knew how to reach out to Joel at this time. Did time with Joel in the Reserves. Two great guys

Charlie and his brother Joel lived across the street from me in HIgh School. We had the same friends and spent  a lot of time with his older brother. My brother played ball with Charlie. He loved sports and they enjoyed going to concerts.  I’m sorry to hear that he passed. His brother lived around the corner from me until last year but has now moved to Florida. I remained in contact with his mom years back until she passed.  Linda Friedman Nadel
