Stan passed away on August 6, 2011 from Prostate Cancer. He is survived by his wife, two beautiful daughters, four grandchildren, his mother and his sister, June Fichtel. June is married to Bob Fichtel, a 1968 graduate.
Stan and I had our confirmation together from St. Kevins. We were Sea Rangers Batt #4, P.S. 177 together, both as Company Commanders and on the Color Guard We attentded JHS and HS Lewis together. Stan always had a smile, joke or laugh, and aways made the day better no matter how bad things were. I am very sadded to hear of his passing, and hope he is in a better place at this time. I am still in shock over Stan's recent passing. Aside from being a wonderful family man, he was a very successful business executive and chemical engineer. Stan introduced me to his sister about 44 years ago in Francis Lewis HS, so I will always be in his debt. In addition to being my brother-in-law, he was one of my best friends. I admired him greatly for the way in which he lived his life. He was one of the good ones who left this earth way too soon. Rest in peace my good friend!
I really only remember Stanley as June's big brother. We were next door neighbors,and I remember his whole family - can still picture his mother and father, as well as Stanley and of course June. He was always nice to me - didn't have to be, as I was his little sister's friend. I am happy to read that he had such a good, successful life and a family who loved him, but so sorry to learn he is gone so soon.
