Bobby was a good friend and baseball teammate of mine at Lewis and in the Mid Queens Boys Club. While the last time I saw Bobby was 48 years ago, I will never forget his soft spoken, kind and friendly manner. He was a highly intelligent young man who went on to have an impressive journalism career. I was deeply saddened to read the news of his passing. However, with each passing year, we will probably read more and more sad news like this from the Class of '68.😢

I remember "Minze" as he was called in P.S. 213. He was sweet and shy and very, very smart. Maybe some of his shyness then was his red hair, maybe because his name was hard to grasp hold of. I hadn't thought much about him except seeing his by-line once or twice as a sports writer for USToday and his wedding announcement in the NYT around 1998. Each time I smiled and thought things were going well for him. Evn though I hadn't seen him since high school I'm sad and sad for his loved ones.
